Home Content Warning

Dear Reader,

Your mental health matters, and while I’d love for you to enjoy Home, I understand that this story isn’t safe for everyone. If we need to part ways at the end of this list, please know I appreciate your consideration for reading my book, and I hope I can cater to you with a different story in the future.

Reader discretion is advised. This book is not intended for those under 18 years old and contains many distressing and unsettling themes.

If you have not read “Crave” this book will make absolutely no sense. Home starts exactly where Crave ended, like a “Previously On” that you’d find on TV. This second book in the series contains a little less spice, and a lot more… darkness. Though, I promise the next book will more than make up for the lack of smut.

If you have any known triggers, is it best not to continue with this book. I’ve mentioned many times (on social media) that I started writing this series during a particular dark time, and it shows in the themes. This series was an outlet while I was on the waiting list for therapy — to keep my mind busy and to escape from the real world.

Themes within Home include, but are not limited to;

  • Strong suicidal ideation, on-page suicide attempts and self-harm
  • Many mentions of and references to nonconsensual abortions, resulting in the perceived inability to procreate
  • Many mentions of genetics and the inability to procreate (from both male and female perspectives)
  • Therapy sessions with a male patient recalling distressing scenes from his past
  • Characters suffering from a myriad of mental conditions including anxiety, PTSD, depression and panic attacks
  • Possessive, controlling and abusive behaviour
  • Graphic descriptions of blood, gore, assault and torture
  • Alcohol consumption
  • On-page rape of a female character
  • On-page death of several characters (varying ages)
  • If you find more along the way that should be added to the list, feel free to contact to me
